WAYS TO PURCHASE MACROMEDIA SOFTWARE
There are three ways that you can purchase Macromedia software -- Dreamweaver,
Fireworks, Flash, and so on -- at an educational discount:
1. CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE DISCOUNT
You can purchase Macromedia software at a special Chancellor's Office
discount. You'll need a purchase order to do this, and the purchase order
should be sent to CSUF Contracts and Procurement. Contracts and Procurement
will then order the software for you from the Chancellor's Office.
PROS: Best price available.
CONS: Requires a PO, and it may take several weeks for you
to get your software.

2. TITAN SHOPS DISCOUNT
You can also purchase Macromedia software at the Titan Shops immediately,
but *NOT* at the Chancellor's Office discount price. The Titan Shops'
final price for Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, or Freehand is $96.01 each
and Macromedia Studio MX 2004is $192.98. These prices include both tax and
a 10% software discount for faculty, staff, and departments.
PROS: Doesn't require a PO. It is also immediate -- you
get the software *today* on CD.
CONS: More expensive. The Titan Shop's price for Macromedia
Studio MX, even with the 10% discount, is still $53.46 more than the Chancellor's
Office Discount price.
3. PURCHASE DIRECTLY FROM MACROMEDIA
Finally, you can also purchase Macromedia software directly from Macromedia
at http://www.macromedia.com/resources/education/store/ (click on "Design
and Development" on the right side of the page to see a complete
price list.) Macromedia offers an educational discount, but it is not
as great as the ones you receive from either the Chancellor's Office or
the Titan Shops. Macromedia's education price for Dreamweaver, Fireworks,
Flash, or Freehand is $99.00 each and Macromedia Studio MX is $199.00.
Once you purchase the software from Macromedia, you download it over
the Internet to your computer.
PROS: Doesn't require a PO. It is also semi-immediate --
you download the software directly from Macromedia.
CONS: More expensive -- the price goes up if you want the
software on a CD instead of as a download. Also downloading all four programs
in Macromedia Studio MX can take a great deal of time.
