Archiving a Blackboard course Web site
The Archive Course tool allows faculty to create a permanent record of a course including all the content and student's work. Archived courses are saved as compressed files using the extension .zip. Archiving a course does not remove/delete it from the Blackboard Learning system.
In the event faculty need to restore a Blackboard course Web site, they will need to send the .zip file to the Blackboard Administrator to restore the course. Faculty cannot restore their own courses.
To archive a Blackboard course Web site follow these steps:
1. Select the Blackboard course Web site that you want to archive.
2. Click the Control Panel link.

3. Click the Archive Course link.
4. Click the submit button.

5. Click the link "Click here to download the generated package file".
6. Click the save button.

7. Select the location in the computer where you would like to save the archive file and click the save button.
