Instructions for students to access content posted by faculty

First, students must log on to the portal and click on Blackboard to access the CSUF Blackboard page.

Once logged on to CSUF Blackboard, click on the My Content tab.

My Content Tab

Click on Tools from menu items at the left.

Note: If you have selected FOLDER view you may simply click on Search Content and you can skip the next step.

Click on Search Content.

Search Content

1. Make sure you have selected Contains - this will broaden your search parameter

2. Put the name of the Folder or File that your instructor has provided you eg "ART COURSE 101"

3. Click on submit.

You will see the folder or item appear in your search window.

Folder found

Select it and then you may either COPY it to your My Content folder or simply download it (save it) to your computer.

Copy or Download

 

If you choose to download the item or folder, you will be prompted to either save it or open it. Save it on your computer. You will be saving a compressed ZIP file which you will have to unzip to view.

If you choose to COPY the item or folder you will be prompted to select the destination folder where you would like to copy the item on your My Content (virtual hard drive).

By default the folder or item will be copied to your root folder eg: user/studentname ; you can copy it to any other folder on your My Content area by simply clicking on Browse and pointing to the appropriate folder.

Click on Submit when done.
