International Research & Creative Activity Travel Funds
Purpose:
The purpose of the International Research & Creative Activity
Travel Grant, sponsored with funds from the President’s
Office, is to assist faculty in their scholarly and creative activities
(research endeavors). Funds can be used to present research at conferences,
collect data, or conduct exploratory investigations outside of the
United States. Individual awards will be up to $1,000
(NOTE: requests for less than $100 will not be considered). Junior
faculty are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are for
travel taken between January 1, 2008 – June 30, 2008.
No funds will be expended without evidence of actual research travel
and funds will not be carried-over for any reason.
Eligibility: All full-time, tenure-track faculty, librarians,
and academic counselors (Unit 3) are eligible for this award.
Awards: The FDC Intramural Awards Subcommittee will recommend
recipients to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for a maximum
of $1,000. Faculty may also apply for these funds retroactively
for a trip that has already occurred within the previous semester.
Review Process:
Proposals will be evaluated by the faculty committee based on the
following criteria:
(1) An adequate description of the research activity (nature &
scope)
(2) The professional significance of the research activity
(3) The anticipated benefit(s) from participation (how it will enhance
research and/or teaching)
