Internet Media Grants
Advanced Streaming Media Teaching Grant($750) - for faculty who have
prior and significant teaching experience with WebCT or Blackboard.
The objective of the Advanced Streaming Media Teaching Grant is that
faculty will learn how to use the Tegrity
Web Learner System to enrich their online courses with streaming media
content to support their courses learning objectives. Following
one day of hands-on training on Friday, July 12th, and a brief one-on-one
follow-up session shortly thereafter, participants will be required, to
prepare at least 4 online lectures or presentations that they will incorporate
into their online courses.

you are not familiar with it.
Faculty, with the assistance of the FDC staff as required,will complete
several activities over the following academic year in order to receive
their final grant disbursement. These include:
- Preparing at least 4 online lectures or presentations that can
be incorporated into their syllabus.
- Recording those 4 lectures or presentations as Tegrity sessions.
- Uploading and linking to Tegrity sessions from their course
Web site.
- Developing and demonstrating an awareness of streaming media's
inherent limitations and bandwidth considerations for users.
- Participating in extended reflection upon the appropriate uses
of streaming media within a particular course by completing a
final, online report, at the completion of their students
use of the online course that incorporates the streaming media.
How do I apply?
In 100 words or fewer, complete the online
application indicating:
- Name The CSUF course(s) you teach and the projected number of students
for which you would like to do this work.
- How will you use technology in this course.
- Describe the teaching/learning activities that you plan to use to
meet the objectives of this STI grant.
When is the deadline for applications?
The deadline to submit an application is May 3, 2002. Grants will
be awarded and recipients notified by May 24th, 2002.
