Robert and Louise Lee Collaborative Teaching Award
Faculty are invited to apply for the Robert and Louise Lee Collaborative
Teaching Award. Interested groups of faculty may apply by submitting
4 copies of the application to the Faculty Development
Center, PLS48 on or before Monday, March 17, 2008 by 5 p.m.
The Award
This award was established by Robert and Louise Lee in 1995 to support
departments engaged in collaborative teaching and learning. It provides
a one-time stipend of $1,500 to help defray the costs of a new
or on-going project developed by faculty collaborators engaged in enhancing
student learning.
The Proposal
The proposal must include a clear statement of the project goals and
activities and include a letter of support from the Chair. The successful
project should represent a collaboration at the department level that
will improve and encourage an on-going dialogue about, and support for,
teaching and learning. Interdepartmental projects that involve two or
more departments are also invited. At the completion of the project,
or within the following academic year the department(s) shall report activity
by conducting a seminar open to the university community. Arrangements
for this seminar will be made through the Faculty Development Center.
Review Process
The proposals will be reviewed by the grant review
subcommittee of faculty and students. The committee's recommendations
will be submitted to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who
will make the final decision and announcement.
An announcement of the department(s) selected for
the award will be made by the end of Spring 2008 and the stipend
will be awarded in the Fall 2008.
