International Travel Grants
Purpose
Each year, the Vice President for Academic Affairs
provides funding for the International
Travel Grants Program to defray expenses (up to $500 maximum) for faculty who have been invited to present at, or participate
in, significant international conferences, meetings, and other related
research and professional activities. (Note:
requests for less than $100 will not be considered)
Eligibility
All full-time, tenure-track faculty, librarians, and academic counselors
(Unit 3) are eligible for this award.
Awards
The FDC awards committee will recommend
recipients to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for a maximum
of $500. Faculty may also apply for these travel funds retroactively
for a trip that took place the previous semester.
Review Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated by the faculty committee based on the
following criteria:
(1) An adequate description of the international activity (nature
and scope).
(2) The professional significance of the international activity.
(3) The anticipated benefit(s) from participation (how it will
enchance research and/or teaching.
(4) The degree of participation.
(5) Evidence of matching support from the Dean and/or Department
Chair.
Application Information: The
call for the Fall Semester is for International Travel taken
between July 1 and December 31. Applications are available

Deadline
The deadline is Monday,
October 15, 2007, by 5:00 p.m. All proposals
must be submitted (4 copies) by the deadline; late applications
will not be accepted.
