International Travel Grants
Purpose
Each year, the President provides funding (up to $1,000) to defray
expenses for faculty who have been invited to present at, or participate
in, significant international conferences, meetings, and other related
research and professional activities. Fall application is for travel taken
between July 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009.
Eligibility
All full-time, tenure-track faculty, librarians, and academic counselors
(Unit 3) are eligible for this award.
Awards
The FDC awards committee will recommend
recipients to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for a maximum
of $1,000. Faculty may also apply for these travel funds retroactively
for a trip that took place the previous semester.
Review Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated by the faculty committee based on the
following criteria:
(1) An adequate description of the international activity (nature
and scope).
(2) The professional significance of the international activity.
(3) The anticipated benefit(s) from participation (how it will
enchance research and/or teaching.
(4) The degree of participation.
(5) Evidence of matching support from the Dean and/or Department
Chair.

Deadline
The deadline is November 2,
2009, by 5:00 p.m. All proposals
must be submitted (4 copies) by the deadline; late applications
will not be accepted.
