Faculty-Undergraduate Student Research/Creative Activity Grants
The Faculty-Student Research/Creative Activity Grants are aimed at
encouraging faculty across the campus to involve undergraduates
in substantive ways in their research or creative activities. The
emphasis of this initiative is to provide a high quality experience
for undergraduates by introducing them to the research or creative
paradigms of a discipline through close working relationships with
faculty. The collaborative faculty-student interactions that occur
as part of involvement in research or creative endeavors constitute
a valuable and rich source of learning and contributes greatly to
students educational experiences.
Criteria
The following criteria will be used in determining the award recipients:
(1) the overall quality of the project that clearly credits the
students involvement, (2) the quality of the scholarly mentoring
and interaction between the faculty member and the student, (3)
the quality of the educational experience for the student, (4) the
extent of contribution by the student to the project, (5) faculty
mentors evaluation of the stature of the presentation, publication,
or performance.
Review Process
The proposals will be reviewed by the FDC Intramural Grants Committee. The committees recommendations will
be submitted to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will
make the final decisions.
