NOMINATIONS FOR CSUF OUTSTANDING PROFESSOR AWARD
You are invited to nominate a colleague for the CSUF 2004-2005 Outstanding Professor Award.
The colleague who is selected as the CSUF Outstanding Professor for the 2004-2005 academic year will be honored at the May 2005 commencement. The award recipient will also receive a monetary award and privileged parking.
Nominees for this award must be distinguished scholars in addition to being outstanding teachers. While at CSUF, they have contributed to our campus' fulfillment of its Mission and Goals and have contributed to the stature of our University and the CSU System. They have earned national and international recognition by their scholarly achievements in research, publications and other creative endeavors.
Nominations, in the form of a simple letter, may come from individual faculty members and groups of faculty and/or from administrators who hold faculty status. Any member of the faculty may nominate a fellow faculty member by securing the signatures of four other faculty colleagues. No one may nominate more than one candidate.
The letter of nomination must be accompanied by evidence of the nominee's achievements as a teacher, as a member of the academic profession, and as a member of the campus and community. All evidence must include substantive written statements (which are both descriptive and evaluative reports) by present and former students, colleagues in the nominee's academic discipline, campus administrators, and others who are qualified to comment upon the nominee's teaching and related contributions. Nominators are responsible for:
1. Submitting the materials, complete with documentation, to the faculty member's department for review.
2. Submitting the materials, documentation and the department review to the Academic Senate Office (MH-143) by Monday, February 28, 2005 at Noon.
