Team up with Blackboard Grant ($200)
The Faculty Development Center (FDC) is pleased to announce the availability of the 2005 Intersession Grant designed to help faculty learn how to integrate technology into their instruction using the Blackboard learning management system. The grant supports faculty as they implement syllabus-based online projects, activities, and teaching tools that create collaborative, online learning environments and experiences for their students for the 2005 spring semester.
Grants are available to two person faculty teams of full-time faculty. The team must consist of one person who has not used Blackboard and one person who is currently using Blackboard and will act as a mentor/partner to assist.
Faculty who are selected will receive the stipend shortly after completing training and creating their Blackboard course Web sites. New Blackboard users will receive a stipend of $200 for creating one Blackboard course Web site for the 2005 spring semester and mentors will receive $100 for supporting and encouraging a colleague to use Blackboard. In addition, mentors can receive an additional stipend of $100 if they create a second Blackboard course Web site for the 2005 spring semester. This must be a course that currently does not have a Blackboard course Web site – Copying content from previous course Web sites or using multiple sections are not acceptable.

The following restrictions apply:
- Faculty may only mentor one other faculty member.
- Mentors will be required to attend the first two sessions to assist.
- Mentors are required to provide guidance and assistance after training.
- Mentors must create a new Blackboard course Web site without copying content from another course Web site to receive the additional $100 stipend.
