  • Description: Cal State Fullerton’s sculptures have received major media attention. Dean of Arts Jerry Samuelson will lead a tour of our installations, from the “Fallen David” to “Lemonade.”

    - Atrium Gallery East: Folk Art of Mexico

  • Description: This exhibit includes both papier-mâché and the fantastic wood carvings known as alebrijes from Oaxaca.

  • Description: Working with molecular scientist, Prof. Katherine Kantardjieff, curator Veronica Chiang presents an exhibit focused on new proteins from the Protein Data Bank and images from the CSUF Center of Molecular Structure that will surprise you.

  • Description: Biologist Bob Koch will demonstrate ultra-high resolution images using the electron microscope.

    Tour of the W.M. Keck Foundation Center for Molecular Structure

  • Room: McCarthy Hall basement (look for the yellow XRAYS near the west elevator)

  • Description:
    The W.M. Keck Foundation Center for Molecular Structure (CMolS) is the first comprehensive x-ray crystallographic and computational facility located at a predominantly undergraduate institution. CMolS is truly a ‘collaboratory’, where faculty and student investigators across the nation are brought together via Internet to access necessary technology and methodology for determination and critical analysis of molecular structure. Chemist Katherine Kantardjieff will conduct a tour of the CMolS.

    Keynote Speaker
    Columnist Dan Walters, Sacramento Bee

    Dan Walters Dan Walters has been a journalist for more than 40 years, spending all but a few of those years working for California newspapers. Mr. Walters began writing the state’s only daily newspaper column devoted to California political, economic and social events and in 1984, he and the column moved to The Sacramento Bee. He has written more than 6,000 columns about California and its politics and his column now appears in more than 50 California newspapers.

    Mr. Walters has written about California and its politics for a number of other publications, including The Wall Street Journal , the Christian Science Monitor and the on-line magazine Intellectual Capital. In 1986, his book, “The New California: Facing the 21st Century,” was published in its first edition. The book has since undergone revisions and has become a widely used college textbook about socioeconomic and political trends in the state. He is also the founding editor of the “California Political Almanac,” the co-author of a new book on lobbying entitled “The Third House: Lobbyists, Money and Power in Sacramento,” and is a frequent guest on national television news shows, commenting on California politics.
