Prevent Plagiarism Using Turnitin on Blackboard

Description

During this hands-on workshop you will learn how to create a Turnitin assignment on Blackboard which can be viewed (and graded) through the Blackboard Grade Center.

Turnitin Assignments are securely and seamlessly submitted on Blackboard and are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin.com. Your students need not create a user account on Turnitin.com or even go to the website - no additional steps are required on either the student or the instructor's part.

Turnitin compares the student's paper with the publicly-accessible internet, electronic databases, and millions of previously submitted student papers. Whenever a match is found, Turnitin highlights the suspect paragraph(s) in the student paper and displays it side-by-side with electronic source(s) in which similar text was located. This makes it a snap for the instructor to review.

A multi-faceted integrated approach to plagiarism prevention is discussed.
