Second Life: Overview of Education in a Virtual World

Description

This workshop introduces novice and new users to the virtual world of Second Life™, the largest and most popular of virtual worlds, which boasts millions of subscribers and a user-driven economy worth approximately $600 million.   This seminar focuses on Second Life as a robust educational medium and tool for distance learning.  Second Life’ features, its benefits in distance learning, and examples of various methods used for instruction in diverse disciplines within its vast virtual environment will be discussed, as well as how new users can get started in Second Life.
