Exciting PC Technology for the Classroom
Description
This quick, one-hour workshop introduces you to some of the most
exciting PC-based technology available to educators today (sorry
Mac users!). From tools that help you easily create teaching videos
to special plug-ins that significantly enhance your PowerPoint
presentations, this workshop is for any PC user interested in learning
more about some of the new technology that can improve your students'
classroom experience and even create positive learning outcomes.
Prerequisites
- At least six months of continuous, hands-on experience using
Microsoft Windows, a keyboard, a mouse, and a Web browser
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
Objectives
- Demonstrate how you can quickly and easily record a lecture or demonstration
using CSUF-supported tools like Tegrity and Microsoft Producer.
- Introduce a commercial program that will record everything on your
screen and turn it into a movie, quickly creating tutorials and demonstrations
for your students.
- Teach you how, without any special software, to take a picture of
anything on your computer screen and insert it into Microsoft Word or
Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Show you how to spice up your PowerPoint presentations with free a
plug-in that lets you view live Web pages inside of your presentation
(no more "launch external browser") and a commercial product
that helps you create stunning charts and graphs, transitions, and illustrations.
- Preview TrueSpectra, an image serving tool that will absolutely astound
you -- and help you take your Web pages, PowerPoint presentations, and
Blackboard pages to the next level.
- And much, much, more.
