Teaching with PowerPoint

Engage your students by enriching and enhancing your instructional PowerPoint presentations through the integration of a variety of resource types. Hyperlinking, a simple but powerful technique, makes this easy to accomplish.

This workshop is designed to illustrate the instructional potential of this approach. Specific examples from a variety of disciplines will be shown. Participants will engage in a brainstorming exercise to generate ideas for use in their own courses. Step-by-step technology instruction in hyperlinking will be provided. In addition, each participant will receive a packet of practical technology information.

When designed effectively, PowerPoints can foster active learning and serve as a creative and useful teaching tool during and after class.

Prerequisites

Ability to create a simple text-based PowerPoint slide.
