Applying Instructional Design Principles for Online Instruction

Description

What is course design really? What makes it effective? Where do you start in designing an online course? How do I know it will be effective? These are all really good questions and if you are contemplating teaching an online course, then you have probably already asked these and many more.  In a nutshell, course design is the careful and comprehensive planning of a course to help students reach, understand, and retain the learning objective(s). In order to do this, you need to have the tools and knowledge to accomplish your goal.

This workshop  will take a look at the process and principles of converting your class from a face to face format, to an engaging, comprehensive online course. Real examples will be showcased and the basic instructional design model will be covered.
