Introduction to Podcasting
Description
Limited to 10 participants.
What is podcasting? How can I use this technology in my classroom to support learning? This workshop will enable you to understand podcasting technology so that you will be able create a podcast. We will look at how other faculty and universities are using podcasts.
During this workshop you will create a short podcast using pre-made content (audio files and a PowerPoint) and upload the podcasts to a Blackboard site. You will be provided with detailed directions for creating future podcasts.
Objectives
- Create a podcast.
- Review education-related podcasts available on iTunes.
- Receive tips for planning and creating an effective podcast.
- Create an audio podcast using Quicktime Pro 7.0.
- Understand the steps for creating a podcast from a PowerPoint.
- View demo on how to upload podcasts on to a Blackboard course site.
- Receive access to a variety of demos and podcasting resources.
Prerequisites
- At least six months of continuous, hands-on experience using Windows or Mac, a keyboard, and a mouse.
- This workshop is limited to 10 participants.
