Design & Administer Effective Web Surveys

Description
This workshop is designed for those interested in moving from paper to web surveys. The workshop involves a web conference (10-11.30 am), followed by a conversation (11:30-12:30 pm) facilitated by Dr. Greg Robinson, Director, H&SS Social Science Research Center, on validity and reliability issues of web surveys.
The web conference will review the many aspects of designing and successfully administering a web survey with a high response rate. Major topics include:
- How theories of survey response can inform design
- Structure and content of email contacts
- Advantages of a mixed-mode contact approach
- Security and anonymity of responses
- Sample size issues
- Incentives in web surveys
- Overall appearance
- Question response categories
- Length and progress indicators
