This workshop provides an introduction to the Blackboard Discussion Board tool including potential uses and features. Hands-on activities include posting to a discussion forum, navigating discussion boards, and creating a discussion forum.

For in-depth instruction on the Discussion Board tool including the pedagogy of effective online discussions designed to enhance student learning, the use of rubrics in grading discussions, creating discussions in online small groups, and more extensive hands-on experience with this tool, attend the 2-part Blackboard Discussion Board and Group Pages workshop.

Prerequisites

Blackboard Course Web Site Design and Development workshop or experience using Blackboard for one semester or more.
Basic computer and internet skills.
