Blackboard Grade Center
Description
This hands-on workshop demonstrates how to create an online gradebook to record student scores, weight grades, calculate the total score, convert grades from a numeric score to a letter grade, and provide student feedback. Learn how students can view grades and instructor comments online using Blackboard's My Grades tool. The benefits of using the Blackboard grading system and navigating and viewing Blackboard 8's Grade Center will be covered. The Grade Center spreadsheet can be exported for use in Excel. Advanced features of Grade Center are covered in a separate workshop.
Objectives
- Add, modify, and remove grade columns.
- Set the grade display option, for example, score, percentage or letter grade.
- Customize the scale for letter grades.
- Weight grades.
- Organize the Grade Center.
- Enter grades and student feedback.
- View and modify scores and grades.
- Understand Grade Center navigation and view options including the use of the Freeze Panes feature.
- Understand how students see their gradebook (My Grades)
- Export the Grade Center spreadsheet.
Prerequisites
- Blackboard Basics workshop and/or experience using basic Blackboard features including adding documents, creating folders, and sending email through Blackboard
