Set up your Blackboard Course in 90 minutes!
Description
- Does Everyone around you have a Blackboard course site set up - and you don't?
- Does your schedule allow you barely time to breathe, leaving you exactly 89 minutes to spare for Blackboard training this semester?
- Have you been uploading your course content on your faculty website and would just like to move up to Blackboard and utilize its extensive features?
- Would you like to post content at a secure online location so you are covered under Fair Use?
- Do you want to stop collecting and then typing in, individual student email addresses to communicate with your students?
- Do you have all your course material in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, PDF and other formats and would just love to post it online so your students may access the files?
If you answered "Yes" to one or more of the above questions - this workshop is for you.
What to expect from this workshop?
- You will walk away with a fully functional Blackboard website despite never having used Blackboard before.
- You will understand the basic functionalities of using Blackboard as an instructor:
- How to log on to Blackboard
- How to make your course available
- How to upload your syllabus
- How to load Lecture notes and other documents
- How to upload your Faculty Profile
- How to send email using Blackboard
- How to make your Blackboard course website look attractive
What you must bring to the workshop to achieve the above goals:
- A course syllabus in any format (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF etc.)
- A picture of yourself looking cool.
- Any lecture notes, powerpoints, scanned articles, website addresses etc. that you might want to post on your Blackboard course website.
- Last and not the least you MUST have access to the CSUF Portal - bring your username and password, you will need it to log on to your Blackboard course(s). Please contact the Helpdesk at x7777 if you have any concerns on this.
- It is also necessary that your department add you as the Instructor on record for the specific course(s) so you may access Blackboard. Contact your department secretary if you have any questions on this.
Prerequisites
- Motivation to make the big move up to Blackboard.
